Life Insurance Company Pays Rightful Amount to Client

DISCLAIMER: The results are specific to the facts and legal circumstances of each of the clients’ cases and should not be used to form an expectation that the same results could be obtained for other clients in similar matters without reference to the specific factual and legal circumstances of each client’s case.

Our client was divorced a number of years ago but maintained a life insurance policy on her ex-husband’s life, faithfully paying the premiums. Following his death, the Delaware Life Insurance Company refused to pay the benefits, insisting that because the parties were divorced it would go to the deceased ex-husband’s heirs.

After a lawsuit was filed in Federal District Court, the Company agreed to pay the $400,000 policy to our client.
